The gorgeous colorful flowers and the rising temperatures make numerous people from all over the world happy. Visiting Amsterdam in the spring season allows you to experience the breathtaking beauty of the world famous Dutch tulip. Roam through the city, step out to the Keukenhof Gardens or go to the market to smell these famous flowers.
Each March, the fields outside Amsterdam transform from sandy pieces into carpets of lime green sprouts as the initial signs of spring emerge. By the time the season is in complete swing, the area is wrapped in yellow, red, pink, and orange blooms. A scene that really looks "The Wizard of Oz."
Whether you prefer to visit the beautifully planted series of blooming bulbs at the famous Keukenhof Gardens or cruise through the bulb-farmers' fields nearby, it is ideal to understand what to expect before heading out on the must-do day trip of the spring season in Holland.
National Tulip Day
In the spring season, the Netherlands' popular flower fields become a strip of tulips, but the season begins much earlier than that. The Dutch tulip season in Amsterdam kicks into gear in the heart of the month January on National Tulip Day when Dutch growers present almost 200,000 tulips in a temporary garden on Dam Square. These lovely blooms are not simply for viewing, either. In fact, all visitors can pick a tulip from the garden to bring home for totally free.

Where to find the Tulip fields
Maximum tulip farms in Holland are found in the Noordoostpolder in the province of Flevoland. The flower bulb fields along the coast of Leiden and The Hague up to Alkmaar in the north are also a great way to enjoy these magnificent flowers. The Keukenhof Gardens, the world's biggest flower exhibition, is famed for its many tulips and is just a fifteen-minute drive away from Leiden and thirty minutes from Amsterdam. Absolutely a must see if you love our tulips!
Bird's eye view of the Tulip Fields
The flower fields are great from the ground, but from up in the air, you get an entirely different view of the flower region. Seeing those gorgeous fields of flowers from the sky will definitely change your world. For a moment, you will feel like you are in heaven. People who have seen these beautiful fields from above do not have the words to describe their feelings. Flying with our helicopter or airplane gives you an unique opportunity to fly above gorgeous flower fields and see the fields with a bird's eye view. Above the Bollenstreek, you also have a lovely view of the coastal strip of the Netherlands and the unique dune area. This is the ultimate lifetime sightseeing experience during Tulip Field season in the Netherlands.
